Day-Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Lahore to Balakot

Traveled by bus from Lahore to Balakot, with bikes loaded on the bus.

Day 2: Balakot to Naran

Journeyed to Naran, with a night stay near Naran.

Day 3: Naran to Besal, Trek to Mullah Ki Basti

Reached Besal by 8:00 AM, started trekking from Besal to Mullah Ki Basti, and stayed overnight at Mullah Ki Basti.

Day 4: Mullah Ki Basti to Dudipatsar Lake, Return to Besal

Treked from Mullah Ki Basti to Dudipatsar Lake, explored the lake, and returned to Besal for a night stay.

Day 5: Besal to Mansehra

Traveled from Besal to Mansehra.

Day 6: Mansehra to Lahore

Returned to Lahore, concluding the adventure.

Instructions for a Safe & Attractive Tour

  1. There is no population on the trekking route from Besal to Dudipatsar Lake.
  2. Total distance from Besal to Dudipatsar Lake is 12 KM.
  3. After 2 hours of tough trekking, beautiful meadows begin, which are easier to walk.
  4. Hiring a tour guide costs approximately 1500–2000 PKR per day.
  5. Hiring a tour guide with a horse costs approximately 3000–4000 PKR per day.
  6. If trekking without a guide, follow these steps:
    • Follow the water stream, trekking opposite the river flow direction.
    • Walk 40–60 minutes on the left side of the river, then cross to the right side.
    • Continue until you find a wooden pallet temporary bridge, cross it to return to the left side.
    • If no bridge is found, keep walking on the right side until you reach Mullah Ki Basti (10–15 rock homes).
    • Cross the river at Mullah Ki Basti, stay overnight, and rest.
  7. Never start trekking after 10:00–11:00 AM to avoid difficulties reaching the destination.
  8. Carry food supplies and dry fruits, as there are no shops or hotels on the 12 KM trek.
  9. No need to carry water; pure stream water is available throughout.
  10. Drink cold water sip by sip, holding each sip in your mouth for 2–5 seconds to adjust temperature and avoid stomach issues.
  11. Choose dry fruits like apricots over snacks like Lays for better breathing at high altitudes.
  12. Carry painkillers (Disprine, Panadol) and vomit tablets.
  13. Use sunlight cream to protect your face from sunburn.
  14. Wear proper trekking shoes to avoid regret.
  15. There are no trees or wood to burn; bring fuel for cooking.
  16. Enjoy the adventure, no matter what!

Note: If you lose your way, don’t panic. Find the river stream and keep walking on its right side, as the left side has impassable mountains.
